Road Testing - Patriot Driving Academy

3rd Party Authorized DPS Road Testing

Patriot Driving Academy is authorized by DPS to offer 3rd party testing for you to obtain a Class C driver’s license.

We only provide the Road Test. You will need to go back to DPS for them to issue your driver’s license. We offer testing Monday through Friday. You can enroll and schedule online below for a weekday (Monday-Friday) test below.
Please Note: Class C testing is provided at any authorized 3rd party testing facility and at the DPS offices.

Scheduling is available no more than 1 month in advance.

Due to instructor availability, students must be able to communicate clearly in English in order to conduct the road test.

We do not accept walk-in appointments.

Students may bring a vehicle or use a designated Patriot Driving vehicle (at an additional cost). If you choose to use a personal vehicle, please be aware of the requirements:

• Must have valid insurance.
• Must be a smoke-free vehicle/be free of any odd odors.
• Must have license plate visible in front and back of vehicle.
• Must have a valid and visible registration sticker.

FOR TEENS 16-17

Schedule the Road Testing for driver age 16-17

What you need:

Possess a valid Texas learner’s permit
Permit must be held for a minimum of 6 months
A parent or legal guardian must be present during testing. If the student is using a Parent Taught Certificate, we advise that the designated Parent Taught instructor also be present during testing.

Course completion

Complete an approved Teen Driver’s Education Course through a Parent Taught Program or Driving School

Documents needed (must be completed and printed)

DE-964 certificate from driving school, or PT certificate from Parent Taught program. Certificate needs to be labeled “FOR DRIVERS LICENSE ONLY”. We need TWO copies of this certificate.
30 hour parent log: Click Here

Verification of enrollment from school (Must be dated within 30 days of testing). If already graduated must be able to provide original diploma.

ADULTS 18-24

Schedule the Road Testing for driver age 18-24

What you need:

Possess a valid Texas Learner’s Permit (Restricted License, Restriction B)

Course completion

Complete an approved Adult Driver’s Education Course (ADE-1317 Approved certificate)

Must provide ADE-1317 Certificate. We need TWO copies of this certificate
